Maintaining Academic Integrity requires time and effort.  Acts of Academic Dishonesty often can be avoided by taking time to carefully prepare an assignment.  Below are a few resources that may be useful.

FSU Libraries

  • Beginning Research-This site offers help to those who are in the initial stages of writing a research paper.
  • Library Tutorials-This website offers tutorials on how to use the various tools and services that the Library has.
  • Citation Management-This website provides information about RefWorks, a tool that FSU students can use to have their references automatically formatted.
  • Style Guides -Here you can find style guides for various formats that you might use including, MLA and APA.

Other FSU Resources

  • Math Help Center -A service offered by the Department of Mathematics, students can receive help in some of the math classes offered at FSU. Review thier website for more information.
  • Reading/Writing Center -FSU's Reading/Writing Center offers help to FSU students of all levels seeking help with a writing assignment. Review their website for more information.
  • Your instructors are valuable sources of information. They can provide information on to receive help in their class. They are also a good resource if you have questions on what you can do to maintain academic integrity in their class. If you are in doubt of what is considered a violation of the academic honor policy, ask your instructor.

Avoiding Plagiarism

  • FSU's English Department's Website- The FSU English Department defines and provides examples of plagiarism.
  • What is plagiarism?-A site by Georgetown University, which answers many questions about plagiarism. Note that some of this information may be specific to Georgetown's Academic Honor Policy.  This site provides guidance on plagiarism and help in determining when to cite.

Time Management

  • University Counseling Center- FSU's Counseling Center offers workshops and presentations on Time Management skills.
  • Managing Your Time-A guide created by Dartmouth University to aid in developing time skills, including worksheets to help you create a schedule.
