Perspectives on Cheating. Students and faculty express very different perspectives regarding what constitutes cheating, especially when defining what constitutes “serious cheating.” For example, 82% of the faculty surveyed viewed turning in work done by someone else as serious cheating, while only 51% of the participating undergraduate students, and 74% of the participating graduate students, agreed.1
